Welcome to the virtual presence of Bishopstoke Parish Council. Hopefully we have provided a resource for anyone interested in our community that is available all day - every day.
There are fourteen Parish councillors, elected every four years. The council and its committees meet several times a month on Tuesdays at the Methodist Church, Sedgwick Road.
Bishopstoke is within Eastleigh Borough Council in the county of Hampshire, in South East England. It is on the outskirts of Eastleigh and between Winchester and Southampton.
Bishopstoke, surrounded by woods and farm land on the eastern side of the Itchen Valley, has a long history, being mentioned when King Alfred's grandson King Eadred, granted land at "Stohes" to one Thegn Aelfric in 948 A.D. Bishopstoke Parish Council has become a Group Member of the Fairtrade in Eastleigh Borough Campaign.
You will know that buying Fairtrade branded goods ensures we are buying better quality products from producers in the developing world who are guaranteed a fair price. Not only the producers and their families benefit from this scheme their communities also benefit through better health, social, educational and environmental conditions.
Public Notice Portal now live: Please help make public notices more accessible to residents
Public notices are now available online at ww.hants.gov.uk/publicnotices, making them more accessible to a wide cross-section of residents. This improves the transparency of public messages by placing them in the most convenient channel for residents. Other councils wishing to publish their notices on the County Council’s portal are also now able to subscribe to the service for a small fee.
