There are fourteen Parish councillors, elected every four years. The council and its committees meet several times a month on Tuesdays at the Methodist Church, Sedgwick Road.
Bishopstoke is within Eastleigh Borough Council in the county of Hampshire, in South East England. It is on the outskirts of Eastleigh and between Winchester and Southampton.

Bishopstoke, surrounded by woods and farm land on the eastern side of the Itchen Valley, has a long history, being mentioned when King Alfred's grandson King Eadred, granted land at "Stohes" to one Thegn Aelfric in 948 A.D.
